July 15th the Church of Scientology sponsored Block Party in downtown Clearwater brought local merchants, non-profits and over 2,500 residents of Tampa Bay in a joyous family celebration of summer.
On July 22nd the Scientology Choir, guest singers and members of the local community came together in support of freedom of religion at the Scientology Information Center in Downtown Clearwater. Guests were treated to the 2nd Annual “Night of the Arts for Human Rights” concert, focusing on Human Rights Article 18, “Everyone shall have the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion".

Family Promise of Greater Denver is one of ten Family Promise Affiliates selected, from Florida to Oregon. Each will receive a $20,000 Homeless No More Challenge Grant from HUMI over the next two years ($10,000 per year) to launch a program aimed at sustainable prevention and rehousing for families experiencing homelessness. The grants are not hand-outs: each Affiliate must raise an initial $10,000 before HUMI awards their $10,000 grant.

Each year, the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation uses two machines to produce all of the over 7,000 pairs of eyeglasses we make for underinsured and uninsured Georgians who would not otherwise be able to afford to purchase eyeglasses. Our machines are past their expected lifespan. If they are not replaced, thousands will be impacted.
