  • (1888PressRelease) August 30, 2017 - Cancer is a random killer. It can strike any one of us at any time. Join George Washington University Hillel as they host a recruitment drive at their Welcome Week Carnival to register potential bone marrow donors to benefit patients suffering from diseases like leukemia and lymphoma whom are in need of a marrow transplant.

The drive, held on behalf of Gift of Life Marrow Registry, will be on August 30, 2017 on campus at Square 80 and will run from 4:30-7:00 pm.

Students, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to participate in the donor drive. It’s fast and painless. If you are between the ages of 18 and 45 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide registry for patients in need. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are someone’s life-saving match.

Although there is no cost for a volunteer to join, there is a $60 lab processing fee for each kit. Gift of Life relies on the generosity of donations to help offset these costs.
