  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) September 01, 2017 - The Lynne Mitchell Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Miramar whose mission is to support the educational needs of underprivileged children in Jamaica, is hosting its fifth-annual philanthropic gala on Saturday, October 14th. This year’s theme, A Night at the Masquerade Ball will feature decadent cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a 3-course dinner, silent and live auctions and much more. Proceeds from the night will go to resources that will directly help improve the quality of learning conditions for primary-school children in Jamaica.

“This gala is our biggest event of the year and always draws a great crowd of supportive individuals,” said Marlene Gordon, president of the Lynne Mitchell Foundation, which was created to honor her mother, a former teacher at Seaview Primary School. “The donations made at this event allow us to continue our mission of academic achievement and growth for the children of rural Jamaica.”

The Gala event will take place on Saturday, October 14th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Coral Gables Country Club. “We’re excited about our masquerade ball theme where we will create an atmosphere of mystery and romance. We look forward to seeing attendees wearing their black tie attire with their best masks. We will be awarding a prize to the best dressed couple,” says Gordon.

A VIP whiskey tasting reception with a whiskey expert will start at 6:00 pm prior to the cocktail reception, hors d’oeuvres and silent auction, followed by a dinner, live auction, and entertainment, and concluding with an after party that begins at 10:15 p.m.

General Admission Tickets are currently available for $100 per person and can be purchased online through https://nightatthemasqueradeball.eventbrite.com. The VIP reception requires a special VIP ticket that includes both the VIP reception and the main gala for $250. Those wishing to make a donation without attending the gala are also encouraged to do so through the foundation’s web page. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible.
