  • (1888PressRelease) February 23, 2017 - Madhya Pradesh Tourism has sent Eco Circuit proposal D.P.R to the Central Tourism Ministry for developing infrastructure around Ramayan Circuit Chitrakoot, Island. Famous religious spot Omkareshwar has been listed in the 'Prasad Yojana'. A D.P.R for this also has been forwarded to the Central Tourism Ministry. Proposals of Rs 50 crore 57 lakhs, Rs 96 crore 94 lakh and Rs 60 crore have been sent for the development of the three circuits. With the first installment of the required fund having been obtained, construction work for the approved Wildlife Circuit, Buddhist Circuit and Heritage Circuit will be started.

    This information was given during a review meeting of the State Tourism Development Corporation. Corporation Chairman Shri Tapan Bhoumik said that the Board of Directors has recommended that six units of the Corporation be given on management contract to the private sector. These units are - Handiya, Neemuch, Naugaon, Katni, Chitrakoot and Datia. In an initiative to connect the state with air service an MoU has been signed between Tourism Corporation and Prabhatam Aviation. Air Taxi service will soon begin. A new Water Sports Centre is being developed in Sailani near Omkareshwar on the lines of Hanuvantiya. Construction of a resort and a boat club is in its last phase here.

    Khajuraho Run on February 26
    Motor Boat, House Boat, Rafting and Cruise will now be run by private sector in the water bodies situated the state. Similarly, Boat Club will be soon operational in Gandhi Sagar dam. A House Boat will run in Tawa and Bargi dam. 'Khajuraho Run' is being organized in famous tourist spot Khajuraho on February 26. A light and sound show programme will begin in Sanchi and Mandu.

    Secretary Tourism and Corporation Managing Director Shri Hari Ranjan Rao said that work will soon begin as desired by the Chief Minister in the Prasad Yojana at Omkareshwar. Guests staying at the Tourism Hotels will enjoy the light and sound show free-of-cost. A website based on locations and other facilities in Madhya Pradesh to encourage film tourism. The Corporation's Conservation Unit has made subsidy of Rs 13 crore 91 lakh available for 19 proposals. The Corporation has completed 96 different works. Also, 143 works have been approved. Instructions have been issued to ensure quality construction in prescribed time limit.

    Important projects, activities and schemes were reviewed and forthcoming work-plan was discussed at the meeting. Additional Managing Director Sushri Tanvi Sundriyal and related Corporation officials were also present at the meeting.
