  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) October 20, 2010 - Prime Mortgage Lending, a sponsor Operation: Coming Home, has announced that the organization will present the keys to its 2010 "Hero Home" to its new owner at a special "Hero Home Finale" on November 4. USMC Sgt. Stan Roberts and his wife, Crissy will take possession of their new home at 718 Sycamore Springs Drive in Fuquay-Varina. Operation: Coming Home is a team of veterans, home builders, and other volunteers dedicated to providing free housing to severely wounded veterans of recent Middle East wars

A member of the 2nd AAV in Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sgt. Roberts served three tours of duty in Iraq. During his last tour, he was injured by an improvised exploding device (IED) blast into his amphibious assault vehicle (AAV). This blast resulted in the loss of Sgt. Roberts' right leg, injuries to his right arm and traumatic brain injury.

"This new home represents the gratitude that we here in the Triangle want to show our wounded veterans," said John Rodgers, CEO of Prime Mortgage Lending. "Sgt. Roberts represents the thousands of soldiers who have paid a price on behalf of our nation. It is an honor for Prime Mortgage Lending to be a supporter of Operation: Coming Home and to be able to give this new home to him and his family."

This is the second Operation: Coming Home "Hero Home" to be built in the Southern Oaks community in Fuquay-Varina.

The ceremony on November 4 will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will feature a number of guest speakers and military demonstrations. The public is invited to attend.

Those wishing to view the new home can visit it October 15-17 during the Parade of Homes event presented by the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Raleigh/Wake County.
