  • (1888PressRelease) March 27, 2012 - SONOMA, Calif - BookheadEd Learning, LLC, publisher of StudySync, the web-based collaborative curriculum, announced today that the product has been named a Finalist in the 2012 SIIA CODiE Awards, in the "Best K-12 Instructional Solution" category.

The category recognizes the best broad-based, multi-disciplinary teaching application or solution for curricula and content that is specifically targeted toward students in K-12 learning environments. Finalists include products that offer online curriculum, assessments, and reporting, integrated with tools for classroom management, planning, and collaboration. The "Best K-12 Instructional Solution" category received the year's highest number of nominations.

Organized by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, the SIIA CODiE Awards recognize excellence in the business software, digital content, and education technology industries. All nominated products and services receive a thorough review from seasoned industry experts who can identify strengths and give significant insights for improvements. In 27 years, the SIIA has recognized more than 1,000 companies for achieving greatness in industries that expect innovative thinking and demand market validation.

The CODiE Awards hold the distinction of being the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program, which provides winners with a unique opportunity to be recognized and honored by companies they respect and with whom they often compete. This year, for the first time, all nominated ed tech products were reviewed solely by educators, who evaluated products through live demonstrations, trial access, and supplementary documentation. Educators selected the 128 product finalists in 23 categories. Winners in the Education Technology categories will be announced May 7th at the CODiE Awards reception and dinner held each year in conjunction with the Ed Tech Industry Summit.
"We're thrilled to see so many excellent educational technology products making it to this year's finalist round," said Karen Billings, vice president of the SIIA Education Division. "We look forward to honoring the winners at our awards dinner in May."

"StudySync's nomination for a CODiE Award is a great honor," said Robert Romano, BookheadEd Learning CEO. "Such a recognition by this prestigious organization is exhilarating.
