  • (1888PressRelease) September 12, 2011 - NuTune, a major global supplier of RF and Tuner Modules, has today unveiled a high performance DVB-T2 Network Interface Module (NIM) that is using Maxlinear Silicon Tuner and Panasonic T2 Demodulator technology. The NUL424V00 is an in-house designed module which is compact, fully RF-tested, low in power consumption and cost-optimized. It is the next product in the rapidly expanding NuTune's Common Tuner Application StandardTM (CTASTM) product portfolio.

More and more countries are adopting the DVB-T2 standard and a NIM module is an easy way for customers to support this standard in the shortest possible time. At the same time, however, customers demand smaller form factors and lower power consumption in their products. "The challenge was to create a solution that combined size, performance and cost. The low power consumption of Maxlinear's IC's make them the ideal partner for this application", clarifies Jack van Mook, VP at NuTune. "The MxL301RF, which is based on MaxLinear's market proven digital CMOS technology, delivers exceptional performance in a low cost, 5x5mm QFN-32 package".

Besides the NUL424V00 (DVB-T2 NIM), NuTune has also the NJL424V00 (DVB-C and DVB-T NIM) as part of NuTune's CTASTM portfolio line up. These modules allow customer to seamlessly switch between DVB-T2, DVB-T and DVB-C without mechanical or electrical changes in their applications. Both the NUL424V00 (DVB-T2 NIM) and NJL424V00 (DVB-C & DVB-T NIM) are perfect for slim-line design as their total volume is 40mm x 28mm x 8mm only.

Samples are available by the end of September 2011 and mass production has been scheduled in early December 2011.
