  • (1888PressRelease) September 12, 2011 - TEMECULA ---- One of the busiest conductors and orchestrators in the Los Angeles film industry, Pete Anthony will take time out of his hectic schedule this month to be honored by many of those whose respect and admiration he has earned in a career that has spanned over two decades.

    Anthony will be honored with the Outstanding Career in Music Award at the 17th Annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival.

    The award will be presented on Sept. 18th at the annual Black-Tie Gala held at the Pechanga Resort & Casino. The festival runs from Sept. 14 - 18.

    Festival Director Jo Moulton said, "Pete Anthony is one of the top conductors and orchestrators in the film music industry working today, collaborating with top composers in the industry on over 100 films just in the past decade. We are delighted to honor Pete Anthony for his brilliant and outstanding career achievement."

    Anthony will be saluted along with legendary Producer/Director Peter Bogdanovich, Academy Award nominated actress Virginia Madsen, Hollywood Icon Connie Stevens, Writer Producer Director Oren Peli of Paranormal Activity fame, legendary Music Producer Russ Regan, and DVD and Blu Ray Manufacturing Technology pioneer Erick Hansen and rising star, Booboo Stewart.
    Past award recipients include Gena Rowlands, Ray Charles, Kenny Loggins, Michael York, Smokey Robinson, Carl Reiner, Lalo Schifrin, Christoper Young, John Ottman, William Shatner, Etta James Trevor Ravin, Steve Dorff, Michael Madsen, Mary Steenburgen and Shirley Jones.

    Anthony has worked on more than 300 feature films including GREEN HORNET, THE SIXTH SENSE, SPIDER-MAN I-III, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and collaborated with many of Hollywood's top composers including James Newton Howard, Danny Elfman, John Powell and Marco Beltrami.

    A graduate of Williams College, Anthony attended the USC Scoring for Motion Pictures & Television Program. For the past ten years he has been a part-time faculty member at USC, teaching orchestration and conducting.

    Anthony lives in Malibu with his wife and their three children. Not surprisingly, the children are all musicians.

    The 17th annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival takes place Sept. 14-18, 2011 at Ultrastar Tower 10 in the Tower Plaza Shopping Center. The festival is presented by Cinema Entertainment Alliance, a non-profit arts and education organization dedicated to celebrating world cinema and music. In 2010 over 300 filmmakers, musicians, producers, directors, writers, judges, composers, arrangers, agents, publicists, cast and crew participated in the festival, which was attended by more than 18,000 people.
