  • Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) July 27, 2012 - RISE Leadership Forum is a powerful, intense leadership development and coaching program designed exclusively for women Executives, Entrepreneurs and Emerging Leaders. The training focuses on Becoming a Leader, Leading Others and Leading an Entity. Founded by Monterey resident Sheila Dundon, RISE creates an interactive, high-level, confidential environment where members learn new ways of leading and engage in strategic leadership and gender gap conversations that typically don't take place anywhere else.

RISE Leadership Forum officially launches its first Leadership Forum on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch. The classes will be held the second Friday of every month for a year for a group of 15 seasoned business women who will meet from 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM to explore best practices, share insights, and try out new leadership approaches in an open, confidential setting. The cost is $4,500 per attendee.

In honor of RISE Leadership Forum's September launch date and Dundon's belief in women and supporting the community, RISE will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast to help build the next generation of young female leaders. The Girl Scouts mission is to help develop young girls into future women leaders. This mission is echoed through this never before offered, women only, RISE Leadership Forum. Dundon is also a former member and officer of the Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast Board of Directors.

During the forums, RISE facilitator Sheila Dundon introduces topics, followed by group discussion. A faculty of women's leadership experts provides interactive learning experiences, insights and tools. Members practice new skills and select actions to apply back on the job, receiving weekly emails to support and enhance goal achievement. Each member may host one monthly forum at her location, allowing her the opportunity to showcase her organization's products and services to the group.

Between forums, members have access to the following:
    • 1:1 coaching with Executive Coach, Sheila Dundon, on an as needed basis.
    • A 360 degree leadership feedback assessment and a team building assessment.
    • Member Only website showcasing articles, books, blogs, leadership exercises and tools.
    • Resources from communication with other RISE members and Forum speakers.

"RISE Leadership Forum believes that every woman business owner or top executive who has valuable experience and a genuine willingness to learn from and help other executives, should be part of RISE," said Dundon.

According to Dundon, there has been virtually no growth in the number of women in top leadership positions for over 5 years!

    • Globally, the number of women in senior management has fallen to 20% in 2011, down from 24% in 2009.
    • In California, women comprise only 9.7% of the board seats and highest-paid executive positions in California's 400 largest public companies.
    • 34% of those 400 companies have no women among their directors and highest paid executives.
