  • (1888PressRelease) February 07, 2017 - European Commission's Deputy Head of Unit, Mark Van Stiphout will share updates on the recently proposed Winter Package this March at SMi's European Smart Grid Cyber Security Conference, taking place on 21st-22nd March.

    Mark will lead a presentation entitled: "The digitalisation of the energy system and the importance of cybersecurity" in which he will discuss the recently proposed Winter Package. He will explore the key elements of the European Commission's legislative proposals, designed to put energy efficiency first, to be the global leader in renewable energy as well as to provide a fairer deal for consumers. Furthermore he will also explain how EU policy and R&D can help to overcome the challenges for Cybersecurity in the energy system.

    Other keynotes will include an update on the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the NIS Directive from IT Governance's CEO & Founder, Alan Calder and a focus on policy driven security challenges in Great Britain from Smart Energy Code Company (SECCo).
