Nagy, Music Teacher at Holy Rosary School, Adjunct Teacher for the University of Southern Indiana and Choir Director/Organist for St. Boniface Parish has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Ann M. Nagy's commitment to excellence in the field of Education.

    Nagy, who holds a Bachelor's of Education in Music from Indiana State University, a Bachelor's of Education in Art from the University of Southern Indiana and 45 graduate credit hours, has spent over thirty-five years in arts education, beginning by teaching piano and voice lessons at the Conservatory of Music while working on her first bachelor's degree.

    As a music and art educator, Nagy has taught students of all ages and grade levels. For the past eleven years she has taught numerous arts related classes for the university, and currently teaches K-8 full-time in general/choral music at Holy Rosary. "I try to work in partnership with my co-workers, students, parents, businesses, other schools, and the community in providing quality education for all students," she said.

    Having written eleven grants and been awarded grant money by various organizations to provide art enrichment opportunities for her students, Nagy strives for continual improvement in her career. She is also a freelance writer with over forty publications of poetry, and numerous articles and letters to the editor. She earned a Writer's Diploma from the Institute of Children's Literature. She uses her literary talents to write letters on behalf of advocacy groups including art, educational and special needs.

    With the hopes of soon writing and publishing children's books that emphasize character education and morals, Nagy will create original text, musical compositions, illustrations and possibly theatrical scripts.

    Nagy is a member of numerous organizations, including the Americans for the Arts Advocacy Group, Child and Adolescent Bipolar Foundation, International Society of Poets, National Arts Educators Association, National Association of Professional Women, Arts Council of South Western Indiana, Tri-State Art Guild, USI Alumni Association, and several honorary sororities. She is the recipient of several awards in art, music, education and writing, including a Teacher of the Year Award in 2001 from the Catholic Diocese and has been an Outstanding Arts Educator Award candidate for the Arts Council of South Western Indiana. In her free time, Ann enjoys visiting art galleries, going to concerts and reading.
