  • Boise City, ID (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2014 - Ernest "Ernie" E. Marks, Owner of Process Improvement Consulting, has been selected as a VIP Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. The selection recognizes Ernest "Ernie" E. Marks's commitment to excellence in Industry Consulting.

Ernest "Ernie" E. Marks began his career while serving in the US Navy as an electronics technician in 1969. After completing his training in the maintenance of shipboard radio and radar equipment in March of 1970, he then completed a two-year program with Cleveland Institute of Electronics, passing the Federal Communications Commission First Class Radio Telephone Operator exam in 1974. Leaving the Navy four years later, he then began another career in equipment manufacturing and maintenance in the semiconductor industry.

Now the owner of Process Improvement Consulting, Mr. Marks acquires customers to conduct business through various marketing and sales tactics to deliver on an agreed upon product for them. The product could be anything from problem solving, training, or process development. The overall goal of the business is to help customers develop meaningful and sustainable improvements to their most critical processes, which could include manufacturing processes, but may include other business essential processes.

"The first step is to analyze the current condition of the process, which includes a definition of the process and how well it is understood by the business stakeholders," Mr. Marks explained. My strongest, most useful, and most often used expertise are in troubleshooting, communication, and plan development and execution."

Mr. Marks's inspiration for reducing waste and aspiring to continuous improvement came from his years as an equipment maintenance manager at Micron Technology. It was there that he learned how very small gains, if made permanent, could amortize into millions of saved dollars and increased productivity. Process Improvement Consulting has made many small changes in equipment design, both in its reliability and in its usability. It is Mr. Marks greatest hopes to be recognized as a significant contributor to productivity improvement in manufacturing environments.

A Capella University graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Summa Cum Laude, Mr. Marks is also a Certified Associate in Project Management, is a certified electronics technician, and a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He is also a member of Electronics Technician Association International, Juran Institute, and Project Management Institute. He is a co-advisor of seven US patents in his field due to experience gained at Micron. He also received a Special Recognition Award from the Idaho State Division of Vocational Education for his contribution as an industry advisor. He also received accolades during his time in the military.
