August 14, 2011 - AOS, Inc develops and implements a holistic approach for delivering an array of direct services to Baltimore City's children and youth to increase academic performance, critical life skills and mentoring relationships as a strategy for preventing and / or reducing substance abuse, crime, violence, and school dropout rates.
GOAL - The goal is to increase the rate of self- sufficiency among individuals and families by creating a central point of access to a comprehensive menu of quality services for vulnerable under-served and at-risk citizens of Baltimore City through the creation of Academy of Success Community Empowment Center and enhancement of existing services delivered at the Academy of Success Youth Development Center.
THE APPROACH - The organization is implementing a "Systems Approach" for addressing the critical needs of the under-served and under-resourced populations. This "System" of empowerment is comprised of five strategic core components of services: Education, Workforce Development, Health and Human Services, Community Service and Capacity Building, and Small Business Incubation. Through these five core components we will deliver a comprehensive menu of enhanced and new services as well as coordinate the delivery of services that will be provided by co-located service partners. The strategic integration of these five core components are expected to produce outcomes specifically aligned with the needs and desires of the community.
VISION- The vision of the Academy of Success, Inc. is that vulnerable, under-served and under resourced populations in Baltimore City will be empowered as each individual develops their potential and received the resources for managing their own life; each family will realize their right and accept the responsibility to participate in the affairs of their community, and each organization or community that we serve will create a social climate which encourages individual growth and positive development.
