Amoroso, of Willig, Williams & Davidson, has completed an intensive week-long training course designed to hone the skills of professionals who protect the interests of abused children. The ChildFirst course in June 2011, created by the nonprofit CornerHouse in cooperation with the American Prosecutors Research Institute and the National Child Protection Training Center, utilizes a specialized forensic interviewing protocol to assess and investigate child abuse matters, particularly those involving child sexual abuse. The ChildFirst Pennsylvania program was presented by the Pennsylvania Children and Youth Solicitors Association in collaboration with the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association. In addition to handling domestic relations issues for her clients, Amoroso serves as an Assistant County Solicitor for Delaware County, Pa., and in that capacity handles dependency matters of neglect and abuse for the county's Children & Youth Services.

    "As a Children & Youth Services advocate, the children are always my first priority," said Amoroso. "Interviewing abused children is always a delicate proposition, so I was pleased to have an opportunity to further enhance my interviewing skills through the ChildFirst course."

    Amoroso, who has been practicing law for more than 20 years, has served as an Assistant County Solicitor since 1991. In addition to representing Children & Youth Services, Amoroso handles appeals for the Department of Public Welfare. A lawyer with Willig, Williams & Davidson, Amoroso counsels and represents clients in domestic relations, real estate, consumer law and criminal defense cases. She is also the managing attorney of the firm's Media, Pa., office.

    A dedicated member of the community, Amoroso currently serves as Hearing Chairman for the Middletown Township Zoning Hearing Board, sits on Neumann University's Continuing Education Advisory Board, serves on the Pennsylvania Children & Youth Solicitors Association Bylaws Committee and is a member of the Delaware County Bar Association Fee Dispute Committee.
