  • (1888PressRelease) December 01, 2011 - Rockledge, FL - Q-Sensei, the award-winning next-generation search technology company, today unveiled the first of its application programming interfaces (API) to embed its multi-dimensional search technology in any website, web service or application. The first phase of the API set, FeedBooster API 1.0, tackles the flood of webfeeds and RSS data.

Search technologies until now have produced endless flat lists of search results that require time and patience to pore over. Q-Sensei's new search technology - called multi-dimensional search -- slices and dices the results and presents them in a dynamic, organized index sorted along multiple 'dimensions' (date, tag, source, author, language or other attributes) to guide users through the deluge of information.

FeedBooster API 1.0 addresses the deluge of news and empowers end-users to search and cull the most relevant news and information from RSS webfeeds. Developers can embed Q-Sensei's webfeed harvesting, search and indexing engine to enhance or complement a site with additional, searchable and empowering content for the end-user. A blog, for example, can add complementing webfeeds; a business portal can provide third-party news that validates their mission.

"Our vision is to make multi-dimensional search prevalent and open to all, especially as businesses and end-users demand better structure, organization and searchability for the increasing amounts of data," said Ute Rother, CEO of Q-Sensei. "Our unique search technology can enhance websites, services and applications to bring the most relevant information quickly and dynamically for a better data-consuming experience. We hope that developers will take advantage of this API to improve information access and findability for any and all data-intensive application or service."

The FeedBooster API 1.0 is RESTful and returns data in JSON format to enable easy configuration and customization within an existing site, service or application. Additional Q-Sensei multi-dimensional search-based APIs and developer tools - including widgets and plug-ins - will be available in 2012. More information on the API can be found at: http://www.qsensei.com/developer/api.
