  • (1888PressRelease) December 18, 2012 - Musicline, a leading publisher of school musicals, has launched a brand new, children's musical comedy, Porridge, written by well-known author Craig Hawes.

Porridge, aimed at KS2, 7 - 11 years, features popular story book characters such as Goldie Locks, Mother Hubbard and the three bears. It is about a crime wave which hits Happy Valley, the town where the fairy tale folk live, and the ensuing police investigation as they try to discover who is responsible.

Its pre-release performances received fantastic reviews. Joanna Hall, head teacher, North Wheatley primary school said: "Porridge has a clever story, hilarious script and fabulous songs that our whole school loved performing. The parents and pupils are still talking about it. It was a spectacular success."

The show lasts for one hour, there are 42 speaking roles and four non-speaking parts which can be easily expanded or reduced. Porridge also features Musicline's unique line count system, making casting a five minute job.

Dave Smith, executive director, Musicline said: "It's Craig Hawes' best musical yet. We can't wait to see teachers, parents and pupils reactions."
Craig Hawes is best known for his KS2 musical hit, Pirates of the Curry Bean, which has generated international success since its release in March 2011.

Musicline has been publishing musicals for schools and youth groups since 1990. They are a family-run business and pride themselves on producing entertaining musicals that develop learning skills in a thrilling, interactive way.
