  • Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) February 21, 2020 - Fine Art Miracles, Inc., the nonprofit organization offering the benefits of Creative Art Therapies and PEERbots (Social Robotics) to communities in Pennsylvania and New York, announced an expansion of services they will provide to St. Anthony School Programs. The expansion is made possible through a $32K grant from the Edith L. Trees Charitable Trust received in the Fall of 2019.

Fine Art Miracles has previously offered music therapy and limited social robotics services to St. Anthony students.

The expanded program taking place in the Spring session (starting February 2020) will feature:

    ● Art therapy in two high schools (with an emphasis on coping with anxiety and depression in teens)

    ● Dance and movement therapy in two middle schools (addressing communication and empathy in pre-teens and teens)

    ● PEERbot Learning using social robots to work with children with challenges in two elementary schools (focused on developing social skills for children on the autism spectrum)

“Creative Art Therapies and PEERbot Learning provide opportunities for self-reflection, role-play and teamwork, all in a safe, non-judgemental space. Kids with challenges experience lower inhibition and reduced stress, so they are able to participate and benefit more from the process. This is cutting edge- it enhances learning more than any tool we’ve come up with,” says Tess Lojacono, CEO and Founder of Fine Art Miracles.

Fine Art Miracles, Inc. (FAM) is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and also serving Erie and Harrisburg as well as Rochester and Buffalo, New York. FAM serves people of all ages with various challenges, through fine art classes, art therapy, dance & movement therapy, music therapy, multi-sensory sessions and PEERbot Learning.

St. Anthony School Programs is a Catholic-based inclusive educational environment for children, ages 5-21, with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and other developmental delays.
