  • (1888PressRelease) September 30, 2014 - In 2013, over 10,000 people attended the Dublin Web Summit. This year, the organisers are expecting 20,000 visitors from over 100 countries, 1,000 exhibiting start-ups and 500 speakers, making the Dublin Web Summit an unmissable event in the technology sector.

French Tech is an initiative of the French government that brings together the French start-up community and aims at increasing its visibility and attractiveness internationally. As part of the French Tech initiative (http://en.lafrenchtech.com), the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in Ireland is hosting a French Tech Pavilion at the Dublin Web Summit 2014.

A professional jury has selected 11 start-ups from France, which are due to exhibit at the event taking place in the Irish capital from 4 to 6 November of this year. The French Tech community will also be gathered on 4 November for the French Tech Night, a networking drinks reception taking place at the Residence of the Ambassador of France in Ireland, in Dublin.

This year's competition for the chance to exhibit on the French Tech pavilion at the Dublin Web Summit was a huge success, with over 25 innovative start-ups applying to take part in the selection process. The Panel of Judges comprised a successful entrepreneur, a technology journalist, two investment managers, a venture capitalist, and the head of the New Technology department at the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in Ireland. The panel singled out 11 projects as the best on offer, taking into consideration the companies' level of innovation, their potential on the international stage, and their progress in terms of finance, organisation and recruitment.
