  • (1888PressRelease) November 22, 2013 - London, Adelaide, Bangalore, New York - Eka Software Solutions, the leading global provider of analytic-driven Commodity Management 2.0 software solutions, was awarded the special commendation for excellence in commodity trading and risk management (CTRM) at the annual industry dinner and awards ceremony in London this evening. The Commodities-Now Annual Awards are decided each year by a combination of votes by industry professionals from around the world and a panel of traders and technologists.

Manav Garg, founder and CEO of Eka commented: "The Commodities-Now awards are highly prized and I am delighted we have been recognised for our innovation and commitment to the global commodity market. I believe we are seeing the beginning of significant changes in CTRM technology. A decade ago the market relied on a disparate collection of home-grown spreadsheets, five years ago first-generation CTRM was seen as the big step forward, but the market has quickly outgrown these technologies and it is now time for a new, analytic-driven approach. Clients are coming to Eka to leapfrog their legacy systems in preparation for a far more competitive environment."

Guy Isherwood, Publisher and Editor of Commodities-Now, commented: "Our awards are always hotly contested and I find it fascinating to see the innovation, evolution and speed of change in technology, trading and risk management software. Eka is well deserving of the Special Commendation for Excellence in Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) award."

The Commendation for Excellence comes at the end of a big year for Eka, which included the acquisition of Calgary-based EnCompass Technologies to form the specialist Eka Energy division, and the investment in MatrixGroup, the Australian-based developer of state-of-the-art automated commodity handling software. In October Eka were the recipients of a significant investment by Silver Lake Kraftwerk, the global leader in technology investing.

"Bryce Lee, Managing Director at Silver Lake Kraftwerk noted: "Eka is a leading player in the commodity management software market and is well-positioned for growth with its differentiated technology platform and a reputation for partnering with customers."
