DIY Driven Campfire Lands First Distributor for New Single Screen in Hollywood
Campfire, a new DIY Exhibitor and moviegoer destination in Hollywood, gains industry support with Breaking Glass Pictures pact.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) December 16, 2011 - Campfire, an upstart exhibitor based in Los Angeles, has received a commitment to screen four new films from Breaking Glass Pictures during Q1 2012. The indie distributor, which had a November national release with the Cam Gigandet romcom "Five Star Day," has January releases scheduled for the "Bollywood Beatz" and "The Summer of Massacre". Films will play exclusive runs at Campfire, which is in residence next door to the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
"We're very impressed and excited to work with Campfire, and support a new screen for indie cinema. They have a gung-ho DIY focus, which is attractive to us and an outlet we want to be in business with. We want to show our movies with exhibitors that understand the need for us to facilitate cross-platform releases." said Richard Wolff, Breaking Glass CEO & Co-Founder.

"We see a market for micro and niche films, while maintaining standards. What the Polish brothers did with "For Lovers Only" was amazing, but I don't want to see all indies released on VOD. Campfire is actively in the phase of building a domestic exhibitor collective, with the plan to have six additional screens up and running in three markets by Summer 2012.
