The Bucerius Law School (www.law-school.de) is consistently ranked among Germany's top three law schools and is widely respected for its instructional excellence and international orientation. Dr. Beldiman has also been appointed as Director of Bucerius' new Center for Transnational Intellectual Property, Media and Technology Law and Policy. The Center's inaugural conference on May 18-19, 2012, will feature an exchange among some of the world's leading IP scholars on the topic "The Access Challenge in the 21st Century: Emerging Issues in Intellectual Property Laws and Knowledge Governance."

    In addition to having taught international and comparative IP law at Bucerius for the past eight years, Dr. Beldiman is Professor in Residence at Hastings College of Law, University of California, San Francisco, and visiting professor at the University of Strasbourg (France), Humboldt University in Berlin (Germany) and Riga Graduate School of Law (Latvia).

    Beldiman advises and counsels on aspects of intellectual property law in the U.S. and overseas, including acquisition, use, licensing, registration and protection of intellectual property assets. She also is experienced in electronic commerce, Internet content and computer technology law matters. Beldiman regularly publishes and lectures on intellectual property and related matters and is a member of the Association for Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP), the San Francisco Intellectual Property Lawyers Association, Bar Association of San Francisco, Intellectual Property Section and International Trademark Association (INTA). Beldiman serves as the Honorary Consul General of Romania in San Francisco.

    Fluent in German, French and Romanian, Beldiman earned her LL.M. in intellectual property from Santa Clara University, School of Law, her Dr. jur., magna cum laude, from Universität Bremen, Germany, her J.D. from Hastings College of Law, University of California and her M.A. in international studies from University of Bucharest, Romania.
