Pan American Metals of Miami says Long-Term Investors Should Look at Silver and Palladium

  • (1888PressRelease) December 16, 2011 - MIAMI, FL - Many market analysts feel that both gold and silver, relying as they do on investment demand, will consolidate for a while - possibly some months - following the sharp correction in mid-December but will then start to rise again. At the time of writing, both metals are holding above September lows of $1531 for gold and $26 for silver.

Silver will benefit from industrial demand if the economy is indeed, as suggested, showing signs of recovery. Its role as a safe haven, as 'poor man's gold' however, will lead to lower prices for a while, offering a perfect buying opportunity for prudent investors looking for growth over a longer period. Some analysts still predict prices as high as $50 an ounce for silver during 2012, although this could take several months.

"Savvy investors looking for bargain buys before Christmas could do a lot worse than silver, especially if it stays below $30 for a while," says Bill Hionas, CEO of Pan American Metals of Miami. "Silver has a lot of room for growth in the coming months."

Palladium is another precious metal worth watching. The price of palladium rose rapidly recently, before succumbing, along with the other precious metals, to the massive sell off currently dominating the market. Nevertheless, palladium had held up fairly well; supplies are challenged and industrial demand is increasing, making this metal a promising prospect, investment wise, in 2012.
