  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) January 12, 2011 - Scatter Brothers' project, entitled "Speed Daters Anonymous", will only be funded if their goal of at least $11,000 is pledged by the deadline, Thursday, February 3rd.

"Kickstarter is the perfect online platform to gain support and raise money for our new short-film," said Ben Daniele, Scatter Brothers President of Production. "It allows us a chance to find funding for the film, while it provides backers a chance to be an integral part of the film's success especially since it's being filmed right here in our backyard."

There's an added element of Hollywood drama to this film's production. The funding on Kickstarter.com is currently at $2,502.00 with 38 backers and 23 days to reach their goal. "Speed Daters Anonymous" must reach the funding goal of $11,000 or it receives none of the money backer's pledged and will not reach production.

With a minimum pledge of $1, Kickstarter allows you to fund the film while qualifying for rewards from The Scatter Brothers. Pledging rewards include a "Thanks" in the credits, an autographed poster from the cast and crew, a role in the film and even the opportunity to become an Executive Producer of the film.
"We are relying on the efforts of real people to help us put our project into motion," said Doug Tschirhart, Scatter Brothers Director, "all the money raised will go to the production and execution needs of filming "Speed Daters Anonymous".

If the funding goal of $11,000 is met by February 3rd production will begin later that month. With all physical locations to be shot in St. Petersburg, the Scatter Brothers aim to not only produce an award winning short-film but to promote awareness for the local film industry as well as generate business for local revenue.

"I think more and more filmmakers and innovators will turn to social networking and internet sites for support in the future; this grassroots initiative brings ordinary people together to achieve extraordinary things," said Daniele.

"Speed Daters Anonymous" is feel good, laugh-out-loud, romantic comedy that will be unveiled by the Scatter Brothers as a Spring Short-Film Release. Based on a true story it chronicles the bizarre world of speed dating, where desperate and lonely souls unite for an unlikely chance at romance.

Once funding is in place and upon completion of the film there will be a screening event in the Tampa Bay area for backers and film enthusiasts alike.
