  • (1888PressRelease) May 17, 2013 - WORLDCOM Public Relations Group (Worldcom), the world's leading partnership of independently owned public relations firms, announced the election of its Asia-Pacific Region Board of Directors. Mae Maneekulpan, Partner at TQPR Thailand in Bangkok, was elected Chair of the regional board.

Maneekulpan will lead the five-member Asia-Pacific Region Board of leaders from independent public relations and communications firms around the region including Cindy Payne of Asia-Pacific Connections in Singapore as Past Chair and Treasurer, Gina Lee of PRN in Seoul as Recruitment Chair, Niall Dologhan of TQPR Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur as Secretary, and Caren Dunn of Wrights PR in Sydney as Marketing Chair. Maneekulpan and Payne also serve on Worldcom's Group Board of Directors.

"This region offers great potential for growth for Worldcom, especially in China and Taiwan," said Maneekulpan. "As our partners' clients in the Americas and EMEA require more assistance across Asia-Pacific, we are well poised today to assist them with our existing 12 partners in the region. However, we plan to ramp our recruitment efforts and increase resources to expand our reach further by adding several more leading independent public relations and communications firms. Together, our diverse communications and marketing expertise can meet the needs of clients requiring global reach."

Worldcom Global Chair, Stephanie Paul, Managing Director, Phillips Group, Brisbane, is confident in the strength of the newly elected Asia-Pacific Region Board and the significant growth potential in the region.

"The Asia-Pacific region continues to be the fastest growing region in the world, averaging 6.3 per cent real GDP growth annually over the past five years, whilst the global economy's average remains at 3.3 per cent," said Paul.

"With a rapidly growing middle class and changing consumer habits, the Asia-Pacific region is an important region for Worldcom our 14 offices generating combined billings of US$28 million in 2012," continued Paul. "I am confident in the Asia-Pacific Region Board's ability to continue to grow our partnership, ensuring we meet our clients' needs and capitalise on the increasing demand for our services in the region."
