  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2017 - For the 13th year in a row, readers of The Burbank Leader, a Los Angeles Times community newspaper, have voted Woodbury University the “Best College/University” in the newspaper’s 2017 ‘Best of Burbank’ special section, the university announced today. On September 23, the newspaper will publish its 22ndannual compendium of Readers’ Choice Awards, in print and online.

The Burbank Leader’s ‘Best of Burbank’ section provides readers with a voice to inform their community on who and what they think is best in Burbank. The newspaper publishes a full-page ballot in eight editions throughout May and June. The 2017 ballot includes more than 150 categories, from Best People, Medical and Service to Food & Drink and Entertainment. Categories are open, with no pre-selected nominees, so it’s up to readers to write-in their preferences in each category. All individuals and business nominees must have a Burbank address. Ballots are tabulated by a third-party vendor.

“It’s an honor for Woodbury to be recognized as the ‘Best College/University’ in the ‘Best of Burbank’ special section for 13 consecutive years,” said David Steele-Figueredo, President of Woodbury University. “Burbank residents know us well and understand that our small community means that we offer a personal, interactive learning environment focused on a practice-based professional and liberal arts education. We add distinct value with our emphasis on faculty-student interaction and active support for student development and achievement.”

At the graduate level, Woodbury’s degree programs in business and architecture enable students to turn jobs into professions, and turn professions into careers. “With a Woodbury graduate education, students are able to sustain and advance themselves while retaining quality of life,” Steele-Figueredo said. “We are committed to cultivating students’ innate talents and providing the tools and guidance they need to become innovative professionals.”
