The award was given to her by renowned activist, Ms. Ranjana Kumari. It was conferred in the presence of women personalities from different parts of India.
This is the third consecutive year of the award started in the year 2009. It was started with the aim to honor the women's for their extraordinary contribution in different fields like Journalism, Education, Art, Culture and literature. Other famous personalities attending the event were film actress Hema Malini, film actress Zohra Sehgal, Journalist Nalini Singh, Famous Poet Kumud Joshi, Ms. Amy Social activist from Netherlands and Bhojpuri Folk Singer - Sharda Sinha.
