  • Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) June 04, 2011 - Competitive intelligence has come a long way from its beginnings. And it has changed - a lot. So, what's next? John McGonagle, SCIP Fellow, explores how the following events and trends (and others as well) will change competitive intelligence - possibly into something brand new, and what that means for you:

Increasing government involvement in information gathering and access due to the war on terror, in the US and around the world.
Challenges to the way we think about intelligence, driven by the resurgent studies on governmental intelligence and the growth of academic programs on intelligence.
The rise (and fall?) of outsourcing secondary research and similar activities.
The decline of print media and rise in cyber media.
The growth of social/business networking sites.
The shift of CI from craft to tool.
