  • (1888PressRelease) April 16, 2011 - Global management consultancy Wardour And Oxford has officially launched Climate Unchange, a new website designed for people and companies around the world to offset their carbon emissions based on their unique personal lifestyles and commercial operations.

The site is simple, but opens up to a world of possibilities where lifestyle activities such as flying, driving, catching public transport, energy consumption, freight forwarding, events, waste, accommodation and mass fuel consumption can be offset accurately, effectively and immediately.

Carbon credits purchased benefit a wide range of global initiatives including hydro, biomass, wind, geothermal, landfill, waste water and gas recovery projects around the world at locations such as Thailand, Indonesia, New Caledonia, Taiwan, China, India, Turkey and Honduras, amongst other global locations.

The projects, which have been verified and certified by independent organisations accredited by the United Nations are collectively designed to help individuals and companies achieve climate neutrality, thus minimising the world's carbon footprint.

CEO of Wardour And Oxford, Wempy Dyocta Koto said: "There is proven scientific evidence and literature educating the public about climate change. There are also global lobby groups pushing this agenda forward. Climate Unchange takes the brave next step of introducing technology to the masses, allowing them to directly take action, everyday. Climate Unchange's target audience does not require further scientific or political debates about the realities of climate change. They are partial to the evidence that climate change is real and that their lifestyles have an impact on future generations. Through climateunchange.com every person and every company around the world now has the tool to offset their carbon emissions - to live responsibly and to operate responsibly".

To mark the launch of Climate Unchange, Wardour And Oxford has appointed Matthew Dieumegard-Thornton as the brand's ambassador. A twenty year old environmental physiology student at Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom, Matthew is set to become one of the youngest Britons ever to summit Mount Everest, the world's tallest mountain.

Koto added: "Matthew is extraordinary. In him, we have an ambitious, academic student, studying the scientific effects of altitude on human body temperature. In his pursuit of climbing Mount Everest, we have a challenge that mirrors the enormous mountain that Climate Unchange and its global unchangers must climb to minimise the damage that has been caused by years of destructive human lifestyles and commercial activities, as well as government policy failures".

In addition to climbing in pursuit of science, aspirations and to drive awareness of Climate Unchange, Matthew will be raising £8,848 in support of the charity Global Angels, an organisation led by Molly Bedingfield, mother of international pop stars Natasha and Daniel Bedingfield. The charity champions children's causes, provides sustainable solutions and is driven by the want to 'make the world a kinder place'. The amount to be raised for Global Angels is £1 per metre climbed, to peak the summit of Mount Everest.

Matthew Dieumegard-Thornton said: "Climate change is a serious crisis that my generation must immediately address. I am humbled by my appointment as the Ambassador of Climate Unchange and my work for Wardour And Oxford and this sustainability brand will be my lifetime's commitment. I would like to thank Wempy, Molly, the Wardour And Oxford global team as well as my parents, family and friends for encouraging my pursuit of summiting Mount Everest and arresting climate change".

In a joint statement issued by Molly Bedingfield and Wempy Dyocta Koto, both leaders stated: "Global Angels and Wardour And Oxford are proud to partner and support Matthew in his quest to climb Mount Everest. He embodies the spirit of both our brands and we wish him safety and well-wishes in his pursuit".

Koto concluded: "Today is the day we mark the launch of Climate Unchange. It is an important global initiative that becomes the world's 24-hour destination to balance our individual personal lifestyles and professional pursuits. It is a bank where we can all contribute to the health, safety and survival of our planet and its future generations".
