  • Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) November 24, 2011 - Bringing awareness to the local community, The Harbor Shops will host its 2nd annual Walk of Charities on December 1, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., an event where participating Harbor Shops tenants welcome the charity of their choice to decorate their store windows. The displays will depict who each charity is, its mission, what it does, where it is located, who it reaches out to, and how the charity impacts those it serves. All charities are sponsored by participating tenants.

    Shoppers and visitors throughout The Harbor Shops will have an opportunity to vote for the best window decoration display. A first-place cash prize will be awarded to the charity whose window display receives the most Celebrity Judges votes. A second-place cash prize will be awarded to the display with the most guest/popular votes.

    Participants include: James Jr. Fun - display at Duffy's - Santa free for all children; Children in Distress - display at Bluewater Books & Charts; Friends of Greyhounds - display at Gilbert's 17th Street Grill; Hope South Florida - display at Prissy Hen; The Human Society of Broward County - display at Hello Gorgeous; Habitat for Humanity - display at Etiquette Boutique; Ride With Heart University of Miami - display at Orange Theory Fitness - Bike Run for adults only; Coco's Asian Bistro & Guilano's Pizza; The Pace Center for Girls - display at Pro Pilates; Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - display at Charlie's Locker - free fire truck rides provided through Best Roofing; Jack & Jill Children's Center - display at Lauderdale Grill; American Diabetes Association - display at D'Lites Emporium; Children's Diagnostic Center - display at Massage Envy; The Heart Gallery - display at Flair Beauty Boutique with free face painting for kids; Cats Exclusive - display at Tech Support Wizards.com; Jessica June Children's Cancer Foundation - display at Total Wine & More with free kids activities, DJ and elf magician; The Children's Miracle Network - display at Ace Hardware; Harbordale Elementary PTA - display at Moe's Southwestern Grill with free "burrito toss" for kids; and Hope Women's Center - display at AT&T.

    The public is invited, free of charge, to enjoy a holiday stroll, view and vote on a window display, and see how local charities affect the community. There will also be complimentary food samplings, refreshment-strolling carolers from participating restaurants, and other festivities.
