Based out of the regional headquarters in Jebel Ali, Dubai, Viewsonic sees 2010 as a turnaround year for the leading computing and consumer electronics player, with several key investments and initiatives being planned for the region.

    Amongst the major moves at Viewsonic, has been the deployment of a new operational team in Dubai, UAE. Now, headed by Mr. Junaid Gul, Country Manager - Middle East, Viewsonic has initiated the recruitment and induction of key sales and supply chain professionals to manage growing operations in the region. Viewsonic also has enlarged its presence within regional technology markets, with the addition of new partners across UAE, Egypt and KSA. While developing the channel, Viewsonic also has begun exercises to examine and reengage with existing partners, Trigon and Al Yousuf Electronics. With the ongoing expansion, the firm now aims to increase activity levels across the region, especially in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

    Speaking on the recent tactical changes, Mr. Junaid Gul, newly appointed Country Manager mentioned: "We are at the start of a new era in terms of Viewsonic's operations in the Middle East and Africa. With a series of strategic changes, new team members, and a diverse, fresh product mix, we are looking to aggressively penetrate regional markets across the region, especially UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. We have recently signed up with Better Business in Egypt. We have already seen a successful H1 2010, and we look forward to further consolidating and developing on our performance through the year. He also said that Viewsonic has been in Projector business for over 15 years and we now plan to aggressively sell our best of the breed projectors in the Middle East market. We are in the process of getting the right partners onboard for our projectors business."

    Another key initiative aimed at channel development, at Viewsonic, has been the commencement of a unique reseller incentive program aimed at engaging with resellers across the region. Viewsonic will now strongly reward top performing resellers, who will form part of an elite group named the "Finch Club", through attractive cash rebates. Similar programs have also been extended to Viewsonic distributors functioning in the region.

    In 2010, Viewsonic has also redefined its product portfolio for the Middle East and Africa region, with the addition of projectors, digital signage, notebooks and netbooks. With product and technology diversification being a core strategy for Viewsonic globally, the firm has introduced cutting edge technology to regional markets with the latest launches being interactive projectors and 3D-ready LED monitors.
