  • (1888PressRelease) July 15, 2010 - One of the UK's leading translation companies is raising profile for new talent.

Veritas Language Solutions recently launched a competition for all university students in the UK, offering them a once in a lifetime opportunity to win a coveted internship with the company, as well as the chance to win a range of exciting prizes. The competition has now drawn to a close, and a well earned winner will be chosen by the end of the month.

Since the competition was launched in May hundreds of university students around the UK have eagerly signed up for the opportunity, and are now left to wait patiently for the results. Veritas have received outstanding efforts from across the country, and are very pleased by how enthusiastic students have been towards the competition. The competition was open to all students with talent in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Welsh, Russian and Polish, giving a wide range of university students entering.

It is not just prizes that will be offered, but real experience in the translation industry. The winners of each category will have the opportunity to take part in a one-on-one mentoring session with the company's directors, which will give them a first step on the ladder and insight into the business of translation.

Once the winner has been chosen, Veritas will be holding the much-anticipated prize giving ceremonies at the winners' respective Universities, which will not only give the students great press coverage, but the event may also catch the eyes of many potential employers.

Veritas' Commercial Director, Sharon Stephens, has stated "The student receiving our mentoring will be certain to stand out from the rest, and will be very impressive to all employers, which is crucial in today's world of work as graduate unemployment is at record highs". Veritas strongly believe that this competition will boost confidence and enthusiasm in students, and hope it will encourage them to think more about what route they will take in translation, and possibly put their ambitions into action.

The standard of entries has been so high and the competition such a success, that Veritas are currently considering holding the competition annually, resulting in even more students receiving this opportunity which could very well change their lives for the better.
