  • (1888PressRelease) October 30, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - Guide by Cell's mobile audio technology is allowing New York City-based nonprofit the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers (AYAW) to share the stories behind their first-ever traveling exhibition of the year's most promising teen-produced works of art and writing, called ART.WRITE.NOW.

AYAW's Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is an annual competition for teen artists in 30 areas of art and writing. ART.WRITE.NOW. is a special new project that takes a segment of the 1,200+ Award-winning works from this year's competition on tour to five cities over the next year.

Starting October 29, the exhibit will be on display in Fort Wayne, IN, before passing through Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. At each of the five stops, visitors can dial either their cell or home phones to hear audio clips from the 50+ winning students in the exhibition.

"Everyone is interested in hearing what the students say about their work," said Kerri Schlottman, Director of External Relations at AYAW. "We gave the students simple instructions and they recorded their own stories about the inspiration that went into each piece. It was easy for us to coordinate, especially when the winners were spread out all over the U.S."

Dial (408) 794-6181 and follow the prompts to hear from any of this year's winning artists.
