  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) November 28, 2012 - Cupcakes and wine: two treats that have an extraordinary ability to bring cheer to an evening, liven any party and make people smile. To help bring the two delights together, The Wine Feed is partnering with cupcake boutique and bakery, The Cupcake Shoppe, to offer unique wine and baked good sets available for order online.

Committed to using fresh, local ingredients, The Cupcake Shoppe practices small batch baking at their downtown Raleigh bakery to provide top-quality sweets to customers. By partnering with local Raleigh wine retailer and neighbor, The Wine Feed, customers can now enjoy perfectly paired desserts and wines delivered to their doorstep. The joint venture offers fans of both delicacies a chance to indulge in, gift or entertain with the two treats in tandem.

"More than ever, our customers are seeking unique, fresh ingredients and interesting flavor combinations in their desserts for any occasion," said Sara Coleman, founder of the Cupcake Shoppe. "The Cupcake Shoppe strives to create delicious treats that surprise and delight guests' taste buds. By pairing our desserts with wines selected by The Wine Feed, we are confident that our customers will find interesting combinations that they can enjoy by themselves and with others."

Considering wine an everyday beverage, The Wine Feed's co-founders - Phillip Zucchino and Philip Rubin - seek to educate consumers on how to find, pair and enjoy unique wines for a greater value through class offerings and educational tastings of hand-selected bottles from across the globe. This new partnership stems from a history of successful "Corks and Cakes" events that the two businesses have co-hosted, and their customers' demand for more.

"Fans of our past events with The Cupcake Shoppe have appreciated pairing homemade sweets with the unique wine offerings from The Wine Feed," said Rubin. "The new packages allow customers to take our events home and host their own personal pairing parties. By offering this as a complete package, customers can cut down on their time planning and instead spend it enjoying themselves."

Starting at $35, the packages can be customized with various amounts of wines and desserts to create a customized set. Orders can be placed online at for delivery or in-store pick-up Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Packages including cupcakes must be picked up in-store.
