  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) August 02, 2011 - On June 15, 2011, The Justinian Society of Philadelphia and The Justinian Foundation hosted their joint Annual Meeting, Society Election and Foundation Scholarship Luncheon at The Union League of Philadelphia. The organizations honored Joseph H. Jacovini, Esq., Chairman of Dilworth Paxson LLP for his many years of service to both Philadelphia's legal community and the community at large.

    The Society reelected, for a second one-year term, each of its officers including Gino J. Benedetti of Dilworth Paxson LLP, Annette Ferrara of Furia and Turner, Michael Mattioni of Mattioni Counselors at Law, and Francis N. DiMeo, Jr. of Rosen, Schafer & DiMeo, LLP.

    The Society also reelected three Board of Governor members to serve second three-year terms including Stephen J. Amoriello, III of Tactix Real Estate Advisors, LLC; Carl A. Solano of Schnader Attorneys at Law; and Dawn M. Tancredi of Mattioni Counselors at Law.

    Marsha F. Santangelo, M.D., FCLM of The Beasley Firm, LLC; Andrew J. DeFalco of Spector Gadon & Rosen, P.C.; and Francesca A. Iacovangelo of Britt Hankins & Moughan were newly elected to the Board of Governors to serve three-year terms.

"These individuals are dedicated to our organization's mission of fostering a spirit of good fellowship; maintaining the honor and dignity of the legal profession along with a high standard of ethical conduct; promoting and encouraging the study of the law, the due administration of justice and reform in the law; and coordinating efforts in the discharge of civil and professional responsibilities to the community."

    As part of the luncheon, each year The Justinian Foundation presents scholarships to Philadelphia-area Italian-American law students who are members of student Justinian Society chapters. This year, the Foundation distributed several scholarships to area law students totaling approximately $8,000.
