  • Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) December 08, 2011 - The National Steinbeck Center, located at One Main Street in Salinas, presents the 32nd Annual Steinbeck Festival, to take place on May 3-6, 2012 in Salinas, California at the National Steinbeck Center and The Steinbeck Institute for Art and Culture, in collaboration with The Woody Guthrie Centennial, a world-wide celebration with the Grammy Museum & the Woody Guthrie Archives.

    This year's theme is 'A Voice.' What can a voice change? A mind. A heart. The world. For thousands of years, writers, artists and musicians have been giving voice to our stories, our hopes, our dreams. Join us to celebrate the power of one voice-through story, song and image-in the work of Steinbeck and others. What can a voice change? Everything!

    Join us in Salinas, Monterey, and in literary locales throughout the world! This year, the Steinbeck Festival International Fringe Fest will reach places like Cebu, Prague, Sag Harbor, Jerusalem, and others.

    You are invited to Go! Discover! Explore! Create! and Read! in the company of scholars, a diverse community, youth and local leaders.

    The National Steinbeck Center is located at One Main Street in Salinas, California, the birthplace of John Steinbeck. It is a museum and cultural institution with a mission to engage people in the exploration of culture, issues and the arts relevant to our times. The Center offers multiple visitor experiences: the John Steinbeck Exhibition Hall and changing art and cultural exhibits with a variety of education and public programs.
