  • Salt Lake City-Ogden, UT (1888PressRelease) February 22, 2011 - GED, or General Education Development, is the equivalent of a high school diploma and refers to a group of tests that evaluate the high school level proficiency of students in five academic subjects.

Students who didn't complete high school for any reason can get the GED credential if they meet the passing score requirement and use it to enroll for college degree programs.

To access this self-paced and useful preparatory program, students can connect to the Learning Express Library using the instructions provided by Stevens-Henager College.

The program comprises several online resources that they can use to prepare for their GED tests including practice exams, preparatory courses and guides, skill improvement lessons, and preparation information on Spanish-language GED.

The practice exams, which follow the real GED test format, will help students become familiar with the exam system and get insight into their areas of strength and improvement. They can also learn how to improve their test taking skills for the best possible results.

Additionally, students can visit an online GED tutoring lab for live instruction on exam topics and get their course-related problems solved and questions answered. The GED lab is conducted from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

In case they are unable to attend the live online lab for some reason, they have the option of going through previously recorded instructions so they don't miss out on any part of the program. The college will provide the links where students can access both live and recorded instructions.

It may be recalled that Stevens-Henager College already offers complimentary GED tutoring to students at some of its campuses. By helping students prepare for and pass their GED exam, the college is trying to remove the road blocks in the way to higher education.
