  • (1888PressRelease) June 02, 2011 - American country music singer and songwriter Stella Parton announced today the release of her book "Tell It Sister, Tell It: Memories, Music and Miracles," an empowering lesson in the healing nature of faith, the strength of belief, and the extraordinary effect one person's will can have on the world. A portion of the proceeds from the book sales will help support domestic violence shelters throughout the Southeast U.S.

Parton, who many consider an American Treasure, will launch the release of the book at the Station Inn in Nashville, Tenn. on June 8, coinciding with the 2011 CMA Music Festival.

"I realized my faith is the one thing that kept me strong throughout my life," says Parton. "I want to share and inspire other women. I want my book to be a message of hope to other single women struggling to raise their children that may have been victims of domestic violence."

Born of extremely humble origins in the Smoky Mountains in eastern Tennessee, Parton went on to become a success story, speaking and entertaining all over the world. To get there, she endured hardships, witnessed many miracles, such as how the power of prayer healed her mother and brother, and experienced extraordinary things including her dream of performing at the Grand Ole Opry.

"I hope those who read the book will find more strength in themselves to be the people God created them to be, not who society has created them to be," says Parton.

Devoting much of her time to causes like domestic violence, Parton teaches workshops for women called "Beauty on a Budget and Self Esteem is Free" at Junior Colleges across the country and teaches at the New Opportunity School for Women at Berea College in Kentucky, utilizing her expertise about hair and makeup to help women build self-esteem.

"Tell It Sister, Tell It: Memories, Music and Miracles" is available on Stella's website www.stellaparton.com and through Amazon, in hard copy or electronic format. In addition, book-lovers can pick up a copy at Stella's upcoming concerts and book signings. A companion piece with lyrics to 11 self-penned songs is available at CD Baby, the link to CD Baby is provided in the book.

Details for Parton's upcoming book tour will soon be announced. Updated information will be available through her website.

Parton is also the author of three cookbooks and is currently working on two additional books. Proceeds from the sale of her cookbooks go to battered women's shelters and Parton continues to find ways to contribute and create awareness of the domestic violence problems in American society.
