  • Sacramento, CA (1888PressRelease) February 04, 2011 - Local businesses are invited to sponsor UCP of Sacramento and Northern California's annual Humanitarian of the Year Award Dinner. Sacramento's premier humanitarian event will take place 6-9 p.m. on April 6 at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento. UCP, which empowers people with developmental disabilities to live life without limits, will honor Sarah Krevans of Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region. The award is given to individuals who have displayed a passion for life and a desire to work toward enhancing the lives of others.

"Sarah has been an outstanding leader in this community," said Doug Bergman, president and CEO, UCP of Sacramento and Northern California. "She has worked to ensure more people have access to health care, and she was instrumental in renovating a local playground to ensure it was accessible to children of all abilities. She is a positive role model and very deserving of this year's Humanitarian of the Year Award."

More than 400 people are expected to attend the 18th annual event, which has raised more than $1.5 million for children and adults living with disabilities and their families. Last year's event raised $169,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, a silent auction and the Fund-a-Success live auction.
