  • (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2012 - Romanian projects are once again in the attention of the IT international community! Four projects developed by SIVECO Romania have been selected in the final stage for designating the best software implementation projects.

"We are honoured and very glad that the results of our projects are recognised in prestigious competitions, like European Software Excellence Awards. The large number of selected projects, in various categories (business management, eLearning, eCustoms) and their positive impact on clients shows once again the quality of our national IT industry and the professionalism of our software specialists. We have received another confirmation that our solutions bring added-value to our customers", said Irina Socol, President & CEO SIVECO Romania.

"The quality of entries was extremely high and demonstrated the depth of talent in the software community across Europe," stated Alan Norman, Managing Director of IT Europa. "Finalists have come from right across Europe with Central and Eastern European countries well represented."
For the 2012 edition of the European Software Excellence Awards, SIVECO Romania has received a record number of nominalisations - four projects within three categories.

For the Government Solution category was selected the project of introducing IT tools for improving the customs processes regarding the transit operations within the Customs Administration in Turkey. The solution, New Computerized Transit System, was also successfully implemented by SIVECO Romania for the Romanian Customs Authority and for the Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia.

For the same category was selected another important project, the Special Schools portal, implemented for the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports. The project is a premiere for Romania, empowering children with special education needs to access, through an online portal, interactive courses that help children develop practical abilities, meant to stimulate their inclusion in the society.

For the Enterprise Solution category was selected the Enterprise Application Suite (EAS), SIVECO Applications, implemented for the company Kathrein Romania, the largest producer and exporter of antennas for mobile communication. The solution implemented covers the needs of the company to align with the international standards of the German group to which the company belongs, KATHREIN-Werke KG. The project proved to be an example of best practice, allowing the company's managers to have total control over the production activity.

For the Content Management Solution was selected the project implemented by SIVECO Romania for the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports that aims to improve the educational process by introducing information technology in the didactic process. The eSchool portal enables students in pre-university education to access a modern virtual laboratory, through which they can conduct dozens of virtual experiments for Chemistry, Physics and Biology, in a secured environment, without the risks implied by a traditional lab.

The Jury of the European Software Excellence Awards 2012 selected for the final stage of the competition 36 companies in 18 countries across Europe. The winners will be announced within the Awards Dinner at the Grand Hyatt, Berlin on 1st March 2012. In the same day will take place European ISV Convention 2012, one of the most important events that will gather the directors of Europe's top Independent Software Vendors.

"The judges were impressed with the quality of all the entries and the obvious work that had gone into preparing them. Our judges have a lot of experience in the IT industry and sitting on such judging panels, so to have such comments as 'what a superb solution' and 'transformational' from them was incredible to hear." stated John Chapman, Editorial Director at IT Europa.

The European Software Excellence Awards are the first pan-European awards which recognise the excellence in IT and the Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Software Developers with the best performances in developing and delivering quality products and services.

Along its 20 years of activity, SIVECO Romania has received over 140 recognitions and awards that prove the quality of its products and services and the great commitment in implementing IT projects with major social and economical impact.
