  • (1888PressRelease) July 14, 2012 - The announcement is made just a couple of months after Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie and Franklin Township Mayor Brian D. Levine showered accolades on WebTeam Corporation and Rangam Consultants Inc. for their innovative endeavor in combining technology with medical expertise to serve the global autism community.

The Shanesh COLORS Program caters to special education needs for children with autism by using technology to humanistic effects. It offers evidence-based learning tools grounded on the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) method of intervention. The new iLearnNEarn series of apps designed specifically to help children with autism has been a major success among parents, teachers and students not just in the US, but also in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Australia, Thailand, Canada, the UK, Spain, Brazil, China and Philippines, where people have generously welcomed the idea, downloading a huge number of apps since last April.

The iLearnNEarn series, along with a bundle of other apps launched last April, was created keeping in mind the overwhelming need for early intervention in infants diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).

"One of the main reasons behind nominating the COLORS Program as the best innovation in preschool and special needs education could be the data collection for teachers and fun for children with Autism" said Nish Parikh, CEO of WebTeam Corporation and the brain behind the COLORS Program. "It is s win win situation for both children and teachers. We are thrilled to have been nominated under "Best Innovation in Pre School and Special Needs Education" category in this year's World Education Summit. WebTeam Corporation has invested over five years of research and development efforts in the area of special needs education to develop this innovative program. We see a great opportunity to serve the autism community globally", Mr. Parikh said with resounding confidence.

"Our approach brings parents and teachers together, where they are able to help each other to deliver the most effective intervention to children with autism", Mr. Parikh added, revealing that by the end of 2012, WebTeam Corporation targets to deliver 10,000 ABA-based intervention sessions everyday using more than 100 different apps and activities. Currently the offered program is delivering 1,200-1,500 intervention sessions globally through apps from iTunes and Android.

Echoing Mr. Parikh's conviction, Program Coordinator at WebTeam Corporation Tim Sharp said, "Everyday we are adding new activities to our library and also developing new apps for parents and teachers."

"Since Shanesh has met with tremendous success in the US, our next goal is to spread our wings across the globe and reach out to as many people as possible", Tim added.

Given that autism intervention still remains to be a neglected area of healthcare in India, the words of Tim and Parikh may soothe thousands of parents whose children hardly receive a proper diagnosis under the age of 18 months and struggle lifelong to enhance their cognitive and social skills. "We are planning to start this program in India soon", Parikh said on a promising note, suggesting that WebTeam Corporation has plans to work closely with experts from the US and Canada and "establish some good institutes where (they) can serve the autism community in India".

The long-term mission of the company is to expand the horizon of special needs education through technology to accommodate the growing demand of evidence-based intervention for children with pervasive developmental disorders.
