Carolyn Sills is a singer and bass player living in Santa Cruz, CA. She writes and performs original music with guitarist Gerard Egan. They are heavily influenced by their vinyl record collection and enjoy performing western music - western swing, country western, west coast blues, spaghetti westerns and more. The combo features top local players Charlie Wallace on steel guitar, Gerard on guitar and Jimmy Norris on drums, with Carolyn on electric bass and vocals. The great Jerry Logan often joins the combo on upright bass, and dynamite singer Sunshine Jackson can be spotted on backing vocals.

"After years in New York City, playing bass with country/rockabilly outfits and singing with the likes of Les Paul, Carolyn Sills has relocated to the west coast to bring her one-of-a-kind show to Santa Cruz County. Sultry 1940's and 50's pop, lively twang, surf, rock n' roll ballads all torched and red hot are part of the mix." - San Jose Mercury News

Carolyn also performs the music of Patsy Cline, Peggy Lee, Doris Day and other pop, jazz and torch singers from the 1920s through the 1950s. A lover of the music of these eras, Carolyn and her band give audiences a chance to hear these timeless songs performed live with incredible authenticity.

Back in 2007, she was asked to sit in with Les Paul at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City, and sing the songs he made famous with Mary Ford. She toured Europe in 2007 and 2008 singing and playing bass with the band Boss Tweed.

She recently wrote a holiday song called George Bailey (Preview) , a tribute to the man played by Jimmy Stewart in It's a Wonderful Life. Her EP of four original songs is now available on itunes, and she is plotting the completion of a full album in 2013.
