  • (1888PressRelease) December 14, 2012 - Samatol Foundation, a NGO that focuses on reuniting runaway children with their families had organised a "Reunion Ceremony" of runaway children with their parents in Mulund, Mumbai today. Mr Achyut Godbole, IT Technologist and Mr Tushar Dalvi, Stage, Television and Film Actor were the Chief Guests for the event.

Mr. Vijay Jadav, Founder - Samatol Foundation said, "There is no greater joy in bringing together parents with their children. It is very disheartening to see the number of children that leave their families thinking it is for the best. We identify such children, try to build a rapport with them and counsel them at the "De-addiction and home orientation camp" called "Manaparivartan Shibir". Here, a child is completely rehabilitated from all his addictions which he has gained during his stray period. We at Samatol Foundation give the child much required love, care and respect. We take a lot of pride in finding the families of these children and ensuring that the life ahead is better."

Since its inception, Samatol Foundation has worked towards its goal of reuniting runaway children with their families. There are an alarming number of children that runaway from their homes due to varied reasons such as family problems, education problems, poverty or sometimes just the thrill of making it big in the magical city - 'Mumbai'. These children end up on the streets, doing meagre jobs to earn just enough money to survive during the day.

As the children are exposed to the bitter world, they pick up all bad habits, right from smoking to taking drugs. These bad elements that have been inculcated in their personalities have to be corrected through proper intervention. "Manaparivartan Shibir" changes the individual's mind and personality. The children are rehabilitated, counselled, given basic education, and provided rigorous training in terms of values and ethics before they are reunited with their families. The foundation follows up with the reunited families at regular intervals and also intervenes and support families that require financial support.
