  • (1888PressRelease) October 31, 2013 - Altamonte Springs, Fla. - There's an old adage that says what's done in the dark will come to light, and thanks to a new Aqua illumination Hydra LED light sold by Salty Supply, those who use it will see maximum performance.

"Combining the control of the AI Vega and unmatched power of the AI Sol, the AI Hydra brings a new level of performance," said Richard Gilliland, ceo of Salty Supply, one of the largest online suppliers of high-end marine aquarium equipment.

Gilliland went on to explain that unlike the Sol Blue and White, the newly released Hydra uses 80 degree lenses to provide uniform light output and color blending.

At a maximum of 95 watts from the wall, Gilliland noted, it follows in the family's efficient footsteps.

"The AI Hydra utilizes the latest LED technology from leading manufacturers, arranged to provide the best performance," Gilliland pointed out, before adding that The Hydra fills the visible light spectrum with light to spare.

"AI has set the standard in LEDs, and have taken their years of experience and customer feedback to provide an even wider spectral output with the AI Hydra by adding 415nm Violet and 400nm UV LEDs to the mix," Gilliland said.

In addition, the spokesman said, it blends.

The Hydra, Gilliland stressed, uses proprietary 80 degree lenses to provide uniform light output and color blending.

The company's latest lens design utilizes the same TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optical design while incorporating a diffuse exit surface to optimize color blending.

One Salty Supply customer identified as Janet of Lakeland, Fla., said the new light really does live up to the hype.

"As a previous owner of the AI sol's these really give me a nice upgrade," she said. "I like that they included the UV and Violet LEDs, and it even has built in wireless."

Optional 50 degree lenses, according to Gilliland, are available for those needing more light penetration.

In addition, the company recently upgraded its search refinements to provide a smarter way to shop by brand, type and price.

As to why anyone should give the new light a try, Gilliand said, "Aqua Illumination has made a new Reef Ready LED light that is $100 less expensive than the previous models. While it has a few less features, it will provide the same USA built quality as the "Vega" model."
