  • Fort Worth-Arlington, TX (1888PressRelease) April 17, 2013 - Remington College-Fort Worth Campus has earned a prestigious award from Carter BloodCare. The blood bank has bestowed its Platinum Award on the campus - that puts it in the top 1% of all business that hold blood drives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The award is based on the number of drives held, amount of blood collected and helping out in times of need.

Remington College's 3 Lives campaign is an effort to increase the number of minority blood donors and gets its name from the fact that three lives can be saved from every one pint of blood collected. Nationally, the effort has resulted in more than 8,200 pints of blood collected since the program began. The program has also received a national award from America's Blood Centers.

"We are so honored to receive this award and humbled by the fact that we are able to impact so many lives in such a dynamic way," said Gregg Falcon, Remington College-Fort Worth Campus President.

At Remington College, blood drives and other community service projects are an important part of preparing students both personally and professionally.

Becky Swindell of Carter BloodCare, who makes regular visits to the campus, said "The most impressive part of your college is the feel that visitors get when they walk through the building. The employees and students are so positive."

Remington College-Fort Worth Campus is located at 300 East Loop 820 in Fort Worth.
