  • (1888PressRelease) March 05, 2012 - A group of postgraduate students from King's College London have launched a new current affairs website, theriskyshift.com (TRS). The founding ethos of TRS is that its content should invite comment, provoke debate and engage with the issues presently affecting international politics, global security and domestic UK affairs. The editors of TRS are Tom Anderson & Thomas Kaye, both students of the MA Terrorism, Security and Society programme in King's College's prestigious Department of War Studies.

The site has attracted a diverse roster of columnists from among London's present and future policy-making community, with international relations theorists, political scientists, historians and philosophers contributing. Among its writers are researchers for the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR), the Gulf Centre for Strategic Studies (GCSS) and the Media Standards Trust. TRS boasts material from MA and PhD candidates studying at the top tiers of the UK's academic institutions, with Cambridge, Edinburgh, LSE, Manchester and Warwick students present.

The site has gained an impressive following among international political and foreign affairs communities and has attracted the attention of, among others, John Prescott, Tessa Jowell and NBC's Chief Foreign Correspondent, Richard Engel on Twitter. Having received 35,000 page views from nearly 90 countries since its launch on the 14th January 2012, the readership is expected to rise exponentially over the coming months as theriskyshift.com becomes an established presence in the international affairs community.
