  • (1888PressRelease) July 17, 2010 - NEW YORK, NY - Champaine, the popular long-time radio host of New York radio station WBLS, has recently launched a new website, www.cookingwithchampaine.com, dedicated to her love of cooking, music, and inspiration.

Chamapaine had built up a devoted following during her 25 years as one of New York City's most recognizable radio personalities, and has been featured in numerous publications, including the New York Daily News and the New York Times.

Unfortunately, she was one of several at the station who were laid off in a cost cutting measure over a year ago.

Since she's always loved cooking and sharing her recipes, she decided to turn a negative into a positive, and concentrate on developing her own cooking show.

"I started this site to take my career to a new level. I always wanted to tie my entertainment career in with my love for cooking, and my website gives me the opportunity to do just that," she explained. "Being in New York radio for 25 years, I have built a loyal listening audience, and many of them have followed me to the website where I can share with them my passion for food, music, and inspiration!"

On her website, she invites visitors to "Come hang out at the Champaine Lounge," just as they did on her radio show. She shares treasured recipes, words of inspiration, and her favorite music.

"I would love to transform from radio to TV with my own cooking show," she said. "This site is about all of us together communicating, creating and inspiring each other to live our best lives. We are all dealing with these tough economic times. It's how we deal with them that makes all the difference."

Champaine is also using her website to promote charity projects, including producing a cookbook of recipes from local chefs, with the proceeds going to benefit local food banks and homeless shelters.

For Champaine, cooking is a way to relax, express her creativity, and share food with loved ones.

"Some of the best memories that I have of growing up are the ones sitting around the table eating a home cooked meal with my family, laughing, telling stories, and just being together. That is an art that is missing in today's society. I hope my website will draw people in and get them back in the kitchen to create healthy delicious recipes, to get them back around the table to create their own life long memories."

Those wanting to follow Champaine's new adventures, find some delicious, healthy recipes, or read her words of inspiration, are invited to visit her at www.cookingwithchampaine.com.
