  • San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) March 28, 2012 - This includes secure online environments where district teams can collaborate and share best practices around important pedagogical issues like Response to Intervention strategies (RTI2), longitudinal assessment benchmark templates and Common Core curriculum units that Pivot Learning has been piloting.

"By using the Edmodo platform, we look forward to offering our clients technology solutions for collaboration on such critical issues that might range from per-pupil budgeting to the Common Core State Standards," said Merrill Vargo, Executive Director of Pivot Learning Partners. "Edmodo and Pivot share a common goal - to build the education organizations of the future - and both organizations have demonstrated the willingness to be on the cutting edge."

The two organizations will work together to blend research-based pedagogy, data-driven learning and social networking. Using Pivot Learning's extensive library of best practices, guidelines and frameworks, educators can create and develop professional learning communities and networks (PLCs/PLNs), and tap into an online community resource expert on key education topics.

Teachers and district leaders will be able to add content shared within the community to their own libraries for later use in their classrooms, PLCs and groups. They can also click through to the collection of Pivot Learning's Best Practice content and browse the items stored within it.

This partnership comes on the heels of Edmodo's announcement that they will allow third-party publishers and developers to create educational apps that integrate directly with Edmodo. Jill Florant, Edmodo's Senior Engagement Manager is excited about the synergy of work ahead. "Pivot brings the expertise, experience and tools needed to support school districts in analyzing, designing and implementing customized solutions".
