  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) February 06, 2012 - What happens when social media and matchmaking come together? That's what dating anthropologist and Single Gal In The City blogger Melissa Braverman is about to find out.

Starting on Valentine's Day, Melissa will spend the next two months going on a series of blind dates with bachelors suggested by the public. The only rules - every date will take place somewhere in New York City and all bachelors must be between the ages of 27 and 47. Why such a big age spread? Because Melissa's experiment is about discovering what happens when any notions of a dating type are cast aside.

Nominate A Date marks the latest in Melissa's adventurous explorations of urban single life. In 2010, she embarked on two Dating Blitzes - one across the U.S., the other across Europe - to examine what it's like to be unattached in some of world's top cities, from Cleveland to L.A., London to Madrid. Now, as part of a New Year's resolution to just say yes and shake up her love life, Melissa is letting anyone with the impulse to play Cupid set her up.

More details about Nominate A Date can be found in a YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRYAYOeoN7s as well as on Melissa's blog, http://www.singlegalnyc.com

In addition to maintaining her popular blog, Melissa writes about dating and relationships for Examiner.com and Skirt.com. YourTango.com selected Melissa as one of the Top Ten people to follow on Twitter for dating advice (second only to Match.com). She has appeared on The Gayle King Show on OWN, KTLA-TV Los Angeles' Morning Show, Fox Atlanta's Good Day X-tra, KWGN-TV Denver's Everyday Show and Fox Cleveland's Robin Swoboda Show. Melissa has also been quoted in such outlets as The Associated Press, The New York Post, The Denver Post, Time Out New York and The Wall Street Journal.
