Howes discusses software design issues such as how to design and specify distributed systems. The ReadyNote is important for all designers of safety-critical systems.

    With more than 35 years of project management experience at Texas Instruments, Honeywell, E-Systems, Lockheed, and the Institute for Defense Analyses, Norman R. Howes is the author of three books, several book chapters, and more than 60 papers. He managed the design and implementation of the prototype space station system at NASA Johnson Space Center from 1984-1987. He is currently a consultant in distributed systems, cyber warfare command and control systems and IT project management.

    John A. Howes is a computer scientist with over 40 years' experience with advanced computer technology as a programmer, systems analyst, project manager, and consultant. Since 1999, he has been an independent consultant.
