The TLM 107, a large diaphragm multi-pattern microphone, has been nominated in the category of 'Microphones - Recording', while the KH 120 D was nominated in the category of 'Studio Monitors'.

Presented by the TEC Foundation, the TEC Awards is the pro audio industry's most prestigious awards show honoring outstanding achievement in product innovation and sound production. The 30th Annual TEC Awards will be presented during the 2015 NAMM Show, to be held in Anaheim, Calif. in January 2015. The nominations, based on product entries by audio manufacturers, were made by a select panel of 130 professionals in numerous audio specialties. Products and projects released and in commercial use during the period of September 1, 2013 to August 31, 2014, were eligible for nomination.

Wolfgang Fraissinet, President of Neumann, commented: "Both the TLM 107 and the KH 120 D represent the pinnacle of innovation and are symbolic of Neumann's commitment to shaping the future of audio. We are honored that the TEC Foundation has chosen to consider these products for Outstanding Technical Achievement awards."

    TLM 107 Microphone:

The TLM 107 is a modern, high-resolution sound transducer with excellent reproduction characteristics that enable it to capture the original sound without coloration, ensuring unlimited design freedom in mixing and post-production. The newly developed double diaphragm capsule is inspired by one of Neumann's top models, the D-01. With its exceptional impulse fidelity, the TLM 107 is particularly suitable for percussion and the finest overtones of stringed instruments.

All of the TLM 107s switching functions are managed through an elegant, wear-resistant navigation switch. The contemporary, intuitive operating concept includes an illuminated pattern display in the chrome ring, with the Pad and Low Cut status LEDs positioned to the left and right. After 15 seconds, the display is turned off automatically, allowing the TLM 107 to be positioned discretely on the stage.

    KH 120 D Studio Monitor:

The KH 120 D is designed for tracking, mixing and mastering applications in music, broadcast, project and post-production studios. Utilizing the latest in acoustic and electronic simulation technologies, the KH 120 D ensures the most accurate sound reproduction possible. Equipped with an additional BNC input for AES/EBU or S/P-DIF formats (24-bit/192 kHz), the KH 120 D enables seamless digital workflow right up through playback on the studio monitor.

The KH 120 D also features digital delay for both analog and digital inputs, enabling the monitor to be used for demanding tasks requiring time alignment. With a maximum delay of over 400 ms, the KH 120 D is able to seamlessly address audio/video synchronization issues, or simply manage time delay compensation in situations where space constraints preclude equidistant positioning of loudspeakers.
